This is track 8 “Something is With Me” from the album “Welcome to the Car” released December 2015. The other tracks of the album have lyrics about Russian cars. This music for track 8 goes back to 1951 with similarities to songs by Russian composers Vano Muradeli and Valentin Levashov.

“We, like our grandfathers and grandmothers, run to exhibitions, go to concerts and cinema, raise children and are afraid of war. Is it really cool that from year to year, from generation to generation, similar faces flash in the city?

And we have much more in common than it seems.”

Russian lyrics from

Southern City Lab

Do you remember, friend, how you and I went to Moscow along morning dews,

and it seemed that Lomonosov himself

was walking next to us?

We studied without knowing peace, but the time has come for us to say goodbye. Goodbye, dear Moscow,

we’ll leave for our home village.

The air of farmland sings to us

And calling us out of the field

Our mothers will soon run out

To sons that have grown up

And now Moscow guides us

And girlfriends shake hands warmly

Goodbye, dear Moscow,

we’ll leave for our home village.

We have a Komsomol grasp

Youth in our hearts, singing!

If necessary - a simple tent

We prefer concrete palaces!

Cheap watches from China!

Our youth is the rising sun!

Goodbye, dear Moscow,

we’ll leave for our home village.

Yest' u nas komsomol'skaya khvatka

Molodyye, kak pesnya, serdtsa!

Yesli nado - prostuyu palatku

Predpochtom my betonnym dvortsam!

Na deshovykh chasakh iz Kitaya

Nashey yunosti solntse vzoshlo

Do svidan'ya, Moskva dorogaya

Uyezzhayem rodnoye selo.

Pomnish' drug, kak po utrennim rosam

My s toboy ukhodili Moskvu?

I, kazalos', chto sam Lomonosov

Ryadom s nami shagal nayavu.

My uchilis', pokoya ne znaya,

No proshchat'sya nam vremya prishlo

Do svidan'ya, Moskva dorogaya -

Uyezzhayem rodnoye selo.

Nam poyot veter solnechnykh pashen'

I zovot nas razdol'ye poley

Skoro vybegut materi nashi

Vozmuzhavshikh vstrechat' synovey

A seychas nas Moskva provozhayet

I podrugi zhmut ruki teplo

Do svidan'ya, Moskva dorogaya

Uyezzhayem rodnoye selo.
